Work Incentives Training For Human Service Professionals
This training is part of the Works for me Program outreach to help individuals with disabilities to gain competitive employment in integrated settings. The purpose of this training is to help you to share information with the individuals you serve regarding the benefits of working and how working will impact their benefits. This training will also provide you with the resources to respond to questions and share information about work incentives and social security benefits while assisting individuals and their families in becoming more knowledgeable and hopefully less fearful about working and receiving benefits.
The information provided in this webcast will help support professionals who assist youth/young adults in making knowledgeable decisions about the transition from school to work while receiving benefits. This webcast will also aid in understanding the value of work incentives in helping these young workers be successful, and to eventually move into greater self-sufficiency. Webcast participants will increase their knowledge regarding the benefits of employment for youth, how working will impact Social Security and healthcare benefits, and how to assist young people with what they need to succeed in adult life even if changes occur in benefits. This training will also provide resources to assist with specific issues of interest to young adults such as: employment, SSI/SSDI, work incentives, health insurance, resources, Age-18 Redetermination, and documentation.

This video series on work incentives and Ticket to Work was created for people with disabilities and their family members. These five short videos will provide information on how working will affect your cash benefits and your healthcare benefits. The videos also introduce resources that are available to help you find and keep a job and plan for changes in benefits.
